Mazola Peanut Cookie






A Mazola Peanut cookie is one of evergreen biscuit that already exist since our childhood life. The Mazola comes from the ingredient that is used which is Mazola corn oil. Usually, it does prepare for celebration day like Hari Raya and also Chinese New Year. It’s very easy and simple cookies to make it. Below down is the recipe for Mazola Peanut Cookies and don't forget to try it for upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.

500 gram ground nut
500 gram wheat flour
370 ml corn oil (Mazola brand)
280 gram castor sugar
2 tea spoon of  baking powder

For gliss   : 1 egg yolk mix with yellow colour.

Methods:

1. Fried the ground nut without using oil, remove the skin after coking it and blend it until crush. 

2. Put in castor sugar, ground nut, baking powder and wheat flour into one bowl and stir it.
Put in corn oil drop by drop until it combine well. Make sure it will resulting t be a dough.

3. Make it into small round shape and push little in the middle of cookies using finger.

4. Gliss it with egg yolk and put on the top of cookies with ground nut as a garnishing.

5. Bake into the oven on 170'c - 180'c for 20 minute or until it turn into brown colour.

6. Put the cookies on the tray for cool it down and keep in airtight container.

A Delicious SOMTAM

Somtam, orignally from Thailand but in Malaysia there has a lot of Tomyam Restaurants that served somtam. Somtam,green papaya salad combines the five main tastes which are sour lime, hot chili, salty, savory fish sauce and the sweetness added by palm sugar. All these ingredients are mixed up in a mortar and there you have it !



Kacang Pool Haji

Kacang Pool Haji, another famous stall that located at Plaza Larkin,JB and their Kacang Pool was totally different in Middle East style where in Larkin they served Kacang Pool with thick bread. Kacang pool is eaten with a thick dipping sauce that made up from broad beans and beef mince. Once, you get your Kacang Pool dont forget to squeeze the lime as the additional flavor. There also has chopped chili and onions for those who love spicy taste. 




Sago Gula Melaka





The picture above is one of our member homemade Sago Gula Melaka or in English Sago with palm sugar. That dessert is one of our favourite Malaysian desserts as the texture of chewy pearl sago soaked in combination of sweet gula melaka (palm sugar) and fragrant santan (coconut milk). Actually what is sago? Pearl sago is a starch that comes from sago palm ang generally nutritious. It’s so easy to make Sago Gula Melaka or Sago Pudding. The ingredients that should be have are sago, palm sugar (gula Melaka), coconut milk (santan)and pandan leaves. Must Try It!!!

How to cook it?
·         In a pot : add 1 cup of sago and 3 cups of water and cook sago on low fire.
·         Keep stirring the sago as to ensure the sago pearls do not clump and cook until sago becomes transparent.
·         Pour sago into a strainer and wash off excess starch in running cold water.
·         Pour into small dessert bowls or muffin tray in which you’ll serve your dessert and put into the fridge to set and chill for an hour.
·         In other pot, pour in20 gm of  coconut milk, pandan leaves and salt. Stir constantly to avoid it becoming clump and boil in low fire until it bubbles. After done, set aside to cool.
·         In another pot, melt 200 gm chopped palm sugar and three tablespoon of water on low fire. It should take about 5 minutes.
·         Serve pudding with palm sugar syrup and coconut milk.

Clock Tower Cendol

Cendol Jam Besar was the most famous cendol in Melaka town. It was located in front of the Dutch square. Usually there will be so many customers on weekend and the main attraction of course the cendol itself. They also offer special ABC with ice-cream and Cendol Durian. The prices were quite satisfied and for those who come to Melaka, dont forget to stop by and try it.

Curry Puff


Curry Puff is one of my favourite foods. It is so delicious with the stuffing inside. Actually, if you want to know, this curry puff is a Malaysian, Singaporean and Thai snack. The fills inside consist of potatoes with chicken or sometimes meat and they are put together inside baked pastry shells. But, nowadays the fills inside are variety which it can be sardines, taro, egg, vegetable and paneer. The pastry is quite thick to prevent it from oozing out of the snack when we fried it or baked it. Besides that, this curry puff can be made in many different sizes. Usually in Malaysia, they are sell for RM1.00 for three pieces. It is cheap right! Curry puff also very popular in Indian bakeries. 

Kuih Bakar


This picture shows a traditional Malay food which is known as 'Kuih Bakar' or also can be said as 'Kuih Bingka'. The colour is green. This is because, it use pandan leaves  blend together to make it green and have the pandan leaves scent. Nowadays, most people will sell it at a price of only RM2.50 only for a piece of cake. Its still quite famous nowdays.
